Emily graduates from puppy class

Usually when a pup graduates from her first training class, she gets a certificate. Look what the trainer gave Emily.
To keep the lamb safe from Miro's big teeth and even bigger slobber, Emily only gets to play with it when she's locked in jail the ex-pen.

It's almost nap time.

Do I look smarter now?

Happy St. Paddy's Day

I, MirĂ³ the Mature, know how to pose for my photograph. To wit:
Pose with silly headband #1.

Pose with silly headband #2, a close-up. You can detect by my minute change in position that this is not a copy of the above but is evidence of my superb ability to hold still.

The noble profile.

By contrast, here is a typical photo of The Peebody.

Well, at least she's wearing green.

A poem by Emily Dickins

I'm preparing for National Poetry Month. Mom says I'm just copying this poem by Emily Dickinson, my favorite poet for obvious reasons. Well, a budding poet has to begin by learning from her predecessors, so I'm happy with this poem and hope the ending will come true.
Signed,
Miss Emily Dickins

Searching for inspiration

I started Early-Took my Mom—
And visited the Park-
The Doggies in the Playground
Came out to us to bark—

And Children on the Jungle Gym
Extended grubby hands-
Presuming me to want to play
All day upon the Sands-

But no one moved me till my Mom
Tossed out a Liver Treat--
Past my nose-and my leash
Oh, I could smell the Meat--

I made as I would eat it up
As wholly as a worm
Wriggling in a Robin’s beak
And I began to squirm--

 And Mom—she started—trying to walk--
While I could only choose
To grab her ankle—then the lace--
Untying her running shoes--

Until I caught the Liver Treat
And swallowed as fast can be--
Mom took a step— but stumbled down-
Scattering treats for ME--

C'mon, we gotta write this down!

Can we redo Tuesday?

So yesterday was Mardi Gras and all she gives me today is this conference tag?

Read Across America Day

Yesterday was Read Across America Day. We're a little behind the times because Mom is slooooowww. She barely caught me that time I dashed to the corner of the dining room for a quiet poop as she was placing her coffee mug on the counter. Anyway, I want to encourage everyone to read, though Mom is grumbling and complaining that she can't read more than a sentence while I'm  wreaking havoc playing nicely.

I love to read. I could just sit and devour a good book, magazine or newspaper. All provide food for thought.

Yours in literacy,
Emily Dickens (a.k.a. Dickins)
