Not sure how that fits the theory.

Bailey showed signs of distress and upset when a dog he had been friends with got sick and passed away. Was it grief as we define it, I don't know. I do know he had to work through the process of believing she was really gone.Sheltie Timeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09767754895398722143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326861338550184789.post-60324963183507368842012-02-21T14:00:55.583-08:002012-02-21T14:00:55.583-08:00Country doesn't like any body.....Country doesn't like any body.....The JRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10860982258621823529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326861338550184789.post-4029437257751308642012-02-20T14:37:38.391-08:002012-02-20T14:37:38.391-08:00There's no doubt that dogs form bonds. In the Time article, however, friendship is defined in a very specific way. I wouldn't be surprised if the author, Carl Zimmer, is working on a book on the topic that will tell us more.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16762413065147371710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326861338550184789.post-29711132495311071992012-02-19T20:58:30.126-08:002012-02-19T20:58:30.126-08:00What a fascinating article. I think she gives the cats right of way because I taught her that they were here first and she has to be nice to them.

I didn't know horses needed companionship until I saw Seabisuit (just last week).
