Another fledgling visits

This one was in the front yard near the wood ants. The front yard seems a little safer because there are lots more bushes and no dogs.
I got a little too close so he decided to retreat up the hill and into more shelter.

  1. We have baby Mourning Doves walking through the garden trying to stay hidden and out of Mitch's way. He like flushing birdies out of mom's garden!

    Love ya lots,

  2. What a cute picture of a cute little fledgling! We saw a young woodpecker in our backyard recently ... amazing how their markings change as they mature.

  3. Keeping the baby birds safe from Stanzie, is a chore around here.
We need smarter birds and a slower Dale.
Our next post will be on the Portland 'Tour de Coops'...check it out!

  4. Those are great close up shots. Your place must be a paradise with all those critters! I was surprised at how country North Bend is, being that it's so close to Seattle.
