Mud Hens

From today's Seattle Times: "Rain, rain, showers, wind and more rain are in the forecast for the next couple days and through the weekend. Then, next week , a new weather system will move in, bringing — get ready – rain!"

Chicken salad with mud dressing.

Oooooo noooooo! The chicken pen has turned into a complete mud puddle. I've been letting the hens out daily to give them some time on the grass but that, too, is wet and mushy.
The grass may be greener on the other side but is it any drier?

  1. Same story up here...rain, wind, really bad rain, really bad wind, mud...straw down, less mud...more rain, where's the straw? On and on it goes. You must have heard me complaining only minutes ago..."I'm soooo sick of the rain and mud!" At the end of the day I let the chickens out on the grass/mud too, for what it's worth. xo

  2. I think at times they like that change (the coop getting wet)

  7. The hens probably can't wait for it to dry up so they can have a dust bath!
